The basics for me when I nip out of the house and up to the shops are:

-       Keys
-       Purse
-       Phone

It’s hard to imagine a time when the phone wasn’t a basic necessity. Having said that, I don’t bring the phone because I think I might need to spontaneously call someone. Like most people, I don’t really use my phone for phone calls, but I do use it for everything else.

Begin at the beginning...

"Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.
Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Welcome to our first editorial. Where to begin? Well, at the beginning Alice.

We thought it would be useful to bring ourselves out into the light - to divert ourselves from the business of wrapping and packing, and share our thoughts and observations. There’s a whole world of fashion, celebrity, life and of course – jewellery, that we see go un-commented every day. As such, we have made it our commitment to share out loud. The good, the bad and well, shall we say - the more creative.

We encourage you to do so also. This is Australian life, Australian style and there’s a whole lot to be said, much to be discussed.

Take for example, Spring Racing. A national event, or at least an excuse to get some fine heels, a hat and frock on. Although seasoned campaigners know, it's never that simple - too much, and you're a Christmas tree. Too little, and well, you've missed the point of the carnival. Applause to the balance of fine millinery, a pop of colour, a classic dress and chic, understated jewellery.

You can be sure we'll have a lot say about what we're seeing both on and off the track in the coming weeks.

Now back to packing.
